I heard my elementary school teacher tell us, "Water reacts to your words. If you say nice words to him, his taste will get better, and if you say bad words, his taste will get worse." This quote, which remained in my mind until this time, surprised me very much. Years later, my admiration for water deepened with the book I read in high school, The Law of Water: A Teaching of Khidr. For this reason, we will talk about a little bit of water in this blog.

My elementary school teacher's words obviously haunted a person in Japan. For years, Masaru Emoto has observed the reactions of water to our words. Eventually, he claimed that water crystals were influenced by the meaning of words.

I believed these claims before I did research on this blog. For this reason, I believed that our brain, which is largely made up of water, would also be affected by negative words and in this way would be stuck in negativity and make our lives pessimistic in this direction.

According to my research, I learned that water is not affected by the meanings of words, but only by sound vibrations and that Emoto's claim only expresses the results that are in accordance with his own thesis and does not present others to people. Actually, this situation made me a little sad. Because a phenomenon that I had believed in for a long time had disappeared.

But don't let that make you think we shouldn't use positive words for ourselves. Now let's talk about "affirmation", which has recently attracted attention.

What is Affirmation?

Affirmation is actually just suggestions to focus us on the positive. It is believed that repeated positive suggestions will lead to a change in thoughts after a while. Changing thoughts will change the way we look at life.

In fact, the main idea of affirmation is to think positively. You can look at the text I wrote about it.

Here, instead of only accepting this in negative moments and examining the situation from a positive point of view, we try to transform our mindset into a positive one by making positive suggestions to ourselves every day. These suggestions made in more general and abstract areas will increase our self-confidence.

When we make affirmations, thoughts don't stay in our brains. We need to turn them into sentences. We need to hear the words and believe them.

Removing negative words for ourselves from our lives can be one of the best investments we can make in both ourselves and our environment. I had a friend who constantly claimed to be unlucky and focused only on the negativity in his life. Apart from hurting himself, I felt that after a while he started to destroy my energy. For this reason, our friendship ended after a while. The people around us, even ourselves, don't have to put up with the bad thoughts that our brains produce. I tried to explain how we can turn our thoughts into positive ones on the blog "The Art of Positive Thinking". Let's talk about how we should put these thoughts into words and tell ourselves.

How is Affirmation Done?

I will not be able to explain here how to make affirmations in the form of substances. Because there is no method of affirmation. Here I will tell you more about what you should pay attention to when affirming.

First of all, you will need to believe your thoughts. The word comes out of the mouth, but if your heart doesn't believe what you're saying, then you won't see any benefit in affirming. For example, if you don't think so you're successful in affirming, "I'm successful," then even if you say it forty times, it won't happen. For this, believe first in yourself and then in your sentences.

The second tip I can give you is to do the affirmations once and not let go. When you put those words into your routine with conviction, you can achieve more productive results. When you wake up in the morning, the positive suggestions you will say to the mirror will not take your time and will make you start the day more positively. When you follow the same routine for 21 days, it will become a habit. The main thing is to take the first step. Let's take that step today!

Affirmation Techniques

What we have described so far has been a bit abstract. Let's think positively, make positive suggestions, and so on. How should these suggestions be?

First of all, I must say that there are many applications in this regard. You can also download one to your phone and start the affirmation you want.

If you want to make your own sentences, then listen to what I have to say to you now.

1. Make sentences as if they were.

Act as if you are already living the sentences you have made. Don't say, "I want to." Say, "This is who I am." Don't say, "I want to be successful," say, "I'm successful." Because when you say, "I want," your brain will focus only on that.

2. Be clear.

Once you know what to affirm and choose your sentences accordingly, try to make more concrete sentences instead of general and abstract sentences. Instead of just saying, "I'm successful," use more specific phrases like "I'm successful in my college life," or "I'm successful in my business life."

3. Don't use a stipulator or future tense.

Believe that your positive suggestions are happening right now and unconditionally, and make sentences like that. When you say, "If I succeed in this exam, I will be successful in my university life" or "I will be successful in my business life tomorrow," you will always wait for the condition or tomorrow to happen. For this reason, use clearer and more confident sentences.

Benefits of Affirmation

The affirmations you can make with sentences like the above will have many benefits for you and your life. First of all, your self-confidence will increase. In this way, you will be able to be more successful in your social life.

Affirmations allow us to think more positively during the day and have a better day. In this way, it both makes you more motivated in what we do and makes it easier for you to do better work.

Affirmations that will make you look at life more positively can be one of the easiest personal development practices. So every morning when we wake up, let's pamper ourselves with beautiful words. We deserved it.
